Who Decides Who Moves?
February 04, 2026
2.1 RTA Hall
As mobility systems become more autonomous and interconnected, the authority to decide who moves, when, and how is increasingly shared between humans, companies, regulators, and intelligent algorithms. This session explores how decisions about movement are made across ground, air, and digital mobility platforms, and what happens when AI-driven systems begin to manage priority, access, and safety at scale.
The discussion will examine the intersection of technology, business, and governance—addressing how autonomous systems make decisions under uncertainty, how safety and fairness are embedded into mobility networks, and where human oversight remains essential. Ultimately, the session asks a critical question for the future of transportation: as machines take on a greater role in directing movement, who is truly in control—and who is accountable?
