The Global South is becoming a central force in shaping the future of the global economy, geopolitics, and multilateral governance. Rapid economic growth, demographic momentum, technological leapfrogging, and evolving political alliances are redefining how influence is exercised across regions in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. At the same time, the Global South faces persistent challenges — from development financing and climate vulnerability to geopolitical pressure and institutional reform. This session explores the strategic direction of the Global South in a fragmenting world order.
