The Arab Region: A Decade in Focus
February 03, 2026
1.1 Plenary Hall
The Arab region is entering a decisive decade marked by profound transformation. Political recalibration, economic diversification, demographic change, and technological acceleration are reshaping how states govern, cooperate, and engage with the world. At the same time, persistent challenges — from conflict and fragmentation to development gaps and regional instability — continue to test collective action.
In this session, H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit offers a strategic reflection on the Arab region’s trajectory over the next ten years. Drawing on his experience leading the League of Arab States, he will examine how regional priorities are evolving, where opportunities for cooperation are emerging, and what lessons recent history offers for navigating the future. Moderated by Emad Eldin Adeeb, the conversation will focus on long-term trends rather than short-term headlines — exploring how the Arab world can strengthen stability, resilience, and relevance in a rapidly changing global order.
