Dr. Balisacan is the Secretary (Minister) of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development and the Vice Chairperson of the Economy and Development Council of the Philippines. He has served as the founding Chair of the Philippine Competition Commission, Dean of the University of the Philippines School of Economics, and Director of SEARCA.
